In her most personal show yet, beloved Australian songbird Karen Knowles reflects on the musical memories of fellow Australian vocal greats, Archie Roach, Judith Durham and Olivia Newton-John and their impacts.
Following a year of great loss in Australian music, Karen wanted to, “curate a show that was more than a tribute”. This performance is about, “coming together and healing”. Karen’s celestial 3-piece band, The Elements, (piano, guitar and cello) joins Australia’s beloved songstress to honour three precious Aussie legends through performing their inspirational music.
An Australian-born singer/songwriter/performer, Karen Knowles commenced her performance career on Young Talent Time, moving on to become a recording artist and live performer. Receiving gold and platinum awards, Karen’s career has spanned more than 40 years, including being the highest-selling female recording artist in Australia for two consecutive years. Lead singer of legendary Australian folk group The Seekers, Karen toured internationally with the group for two years and recorded the original version of the much-loved song, “I Am Australian” with Bruce Woodley and the National Boys Choir.
Karen performs regularly at venues around Australia as well as being engaged in recording, music theatre and television. Karen has received many awards and nominations including an Australian Humanitarian Award for her services to the Arts and was appointed by the Reconciliation Council as an Inaugral Ambassador for Reconciliation.
