Bogong Centre for Sound Culture’s exciting new exhibition, Between Two Sites, showcases the work of women and non-binary artists who explore the environmental issues that affect the Yarra Ranges and Alpine Shire regions. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of human-made imprints on natural environments and the impact on fragile ecosystems that support indigenous flora and fauna.
Artists include Anne McCallum, Madelynne Cornish, Sarah Lynch, Shannon Collis, Lesley Duxbury, Sarah Edwards and Amias Hanley.
These artists have observed and recorded the dissonance between landscape, humans and technology. Their approaches range from the sensory to the social. They use audio-visual and site-specific installations, photography and sound art to reflect the ecology of these regions to deepen our understanding of these places.
AUDIO DESCRIBED: The Between Two Sites exhibition is accessible to blind and low-vision communities through audio descriptions available in audio and text formats on our dedicated website between-two-sites.com and via QR code posters displayed in the gallery.
